The ground works that lead to up to a successful election begin months, if not years, in advance of the general election. Getting the PPC’s for the constituency known by the public is vital for support when it comes to the election. Therefore it is now that we should begin to put in the effort in order to aid the candidates to victory.

We recently heard a fantastic analogy relating to World War Two: ‘D-Day was planned months, if not years, in advance, and the final aim was not only to get Normandy but eventually reach Berlin.’

The Council elections has got us to Normandy. However it is now that we must put our efforts into leafleting and canvassing so that we may reach that symbolic Berlin, victory at the general election. The final push (as and when our Prime Minister calls an election!) will be the month leading up to the election when we entrench all our previous hard work with the reward of a Conservative government in place.
